Wish Upon a Shooting Star

Making a wish at the sight of a shooting star is believed to have originated in Europe with astronomer Ptolemy.  Every now and then for whatever reasons, God(s) make a little slit in the sky to peer down at earth.  Sometimes stars would slip out of this slit and reveal themselves as shooting/falling stars.  When we see these stars, we know God(s) are looking at us and [we assume] they will be more receptive to our wishes.

  1. Nice story! I'll remember next time that I look up at a shooting star that some hidden god might just reveal itself...
